The resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is central to Christianity. In the “Reasonableness of Christianity,” John Locke affirms, “Our Savior’s resurrection is truly of great importance in Christianity; so great, that his being or not being the Messiah stands or falls with it: and so great, that without it there had been no sufficient proof of his being the Messiah.” Over the centuries, many theories have tried to explain the resurrection of Jesus without relying on God's supernatural act. We do not serve a dead Savior because a dead Savior is no Savior. Therefore, in today’s teachings, Pastor Shawn addresses this topic by presenting four facts about the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christianity is based on historical facts supported by evidence and witnesses, not myths or legends. The resurrection of Jesus has even been acknowledged by His enemies. Even David Strauss, who supported naturalistic theories to explain away the resurrection, recognized the central importance of the resurrection in his critical analyses, viewing it as the key point on which traditional Christianity depends. As Christians, we need to understand what we believe and why we believe it. The apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 3:15-16: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” So, we invite you to join us today as we explore these four facts.
