Harvest Community Church is a new, Christ-focused church plant in Brevard County, Florida. We exist to connect with those who feel distant from the church, as well as those looking for a place to belong, grow, and find authentic community.
Our foundation is the Bible, and our goal is to teach it in a way that is both faithful to Scripture and relevant to everyday life. Everything we do focuses on Jesus Christ, our Savior, Redeemer, and the one who guides and sustains us.
At Harvest, relationships are important, questions are welcomed, and everyone can grow at their own speed. Whether you’re new to faith, coming back to church, or searching for a place to call home, we’d love to meet you.
Harvest Community Church started in December 2024 when Pastor Shawn and Debora Barr, along with two close pastor friends, gathered in prayer to seek God’s guidance about planting a new church in Brevard County, Florida. During that time, they felt called to reach people in the Palm Bay and Melbourne areas who were disconnected from church or had never experienced it.
In January 2025, Shawn and Debora moved to Florida to join their pastor friends in following that calling. By January 25, 2025, a small group began meeting on Saturday afternoons for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. From the beginning, Harvest is consistently committed to Biblical teaching with clear life applications. Jesus Christ remains the center of our gatherings as our life-giver, redeemer, sustainer, and finisher of our faith journey.
As we grow, we continue to seek God’s guidance and trust in His faithfulness to lead people to become part of our story. We are dedicated to fostering a presence in the Brevard County community. We are just as amazed as we are grateful for what the Lord has done and will do through deep relationships and the opportunity to address deep needs of the human soul. As we look ahead, we do so with humility, hope, and a vision for following Jesus with a faithful presence, practicing His way, and working to build His Kingdom.
